A big part of our mission work is feeding the poor in the more destitute mountain regions of Haiti.  For the past twenty or so years, we have concentrated on the mountains of Au Cadet. The area is very dry and destitute. Here you see the people gathering in a dried up river bed to receive a portion of rice and beans which we prepare at our orphanages  (click  here). Many walk for miles from far reaches of these mountains. And we drive for miles with our truck full of Rice & Beans on the treturous mountain roads (Click Here)

Together with the older children from our orphanage and the haitian men and women with us, we help the  people sit down, learn a Bible scripture for the day and sing and pray together.  After this comes the job of distributing the food orderly and urgently so that everyone gets their portion for the day.   This particular gathering  grows to over 2,000 people at  one sitting.  Whenever we have left overs, we feed a few smaller groups along the road.  And as the sun sets, we cheerfully sing as we drive all the way home!
