Loading up the truck with USAID food supplies at our house in Fermathe
The people expect us by now, and usually begin to gather before we even arrive
smiling faces
As the lines of people grow, just keeping everyone calm and orderly can be a challenge...
A large percentage of the people who come to our feedings are children
This little girl's reddish hair is a sign of malnourishment, a common sight among these children
Often these women walk miles to receive food for their families, which are usually on the larger side. (often 6-10 children per family)
The first thing we do after the people sit down is sing together...
More malnutrition is evident in these children waiting patiently for the food to be handed out...
Guervison preaching the Gospel to the people...
We teach the people a verse from the Bible and then explain it in simple terms that they can understand.
Unloading the food (in the blue bags)
We tell all the people to say "Mesi Jezi" (thank you Jesus) for the food and that He is the One who sent us
It is unlike anything you have ever heard when this many people are singing in unison at the top of their lungs...
These children love to get their picture taken and gladly pose for a group shot...
Little boys chasing our truck down the road in the hopes of getting some extra food...
Mesi Jezi!
